Default MDS light add on?

Has any of the mod engineers out there with the wiring schematic available figured out how to add a light to indicate MDS activation on/off yet? I know there was a thread early last year that ended up being wrong, any new theories/ideas?

I think it's a dead issue, there are too few of us. I am kinda glad I have an early build I am not experiencing the problems that most are, knock on wood.

I'm sure it's a dead issue with dodge, but I would imagine someone would tinker with it and find the promise land. When I get the factory service manual (and not the one that was passed around on here, which is almost useless), I will see what I can find.

I have not purchased this. According to the company it will show mds activation plus lots of other data. Plugs into the obii port.

I still wonder if buying a new 2009 instrument cluster would give the fuel saver light. Just don't know enough if more wiring would have to be done or a simple guage replacement would do it. I've talked to two dealers and they don't have a clue. Sent a letter to customer service and basically it said talk to the dealer. The dashhawk is more than the mopar gauge, but if you factored in labor it would be cheaper.

So, does anyone know for sure that if a new guage package was installed, would it include the fuel saver feature? I am guessing that the 2010 evec guage package would not be compatable with 2009.

I'm pretty sure a new instrument cluster will get you the light. A guy here had his replaced because of a dead pixel in the evic and the new evic had the light.

Yeah this seems to be a dead issue now. When I first started on this forum no one had the light, now everyone has it.

i had the same question, i looked at the build date and it is oct-08. last fall i bought the 09 ram 1500 cc 4x4 trx. you would think for the price of my big blue there would be an indicator of sorts to tell you when mds is activated, also for the $$$ no power seats or blue tooth capability. dont get me wrong ths is a great truck, just lacks a couple of ammenetities.

Has anyone been to the dealer and said somehting is wrong with my truck the MDS light never comes on and show them in your manul that it is suppose to. I have never seen anywhere in the manul where it says early build trucks do not have this.
