you have a pic and what kind did you use. i didnt realize there was a pocket there

The Calgary dealer I got mine from didn't know of any harness at all for any of the 4th Gen Rams.
I installed mine yesterday morning, 10 minutes and it was in and working. The contoller for the 2010 is really a piece of cake...the 2009 on the other hand sounds like a pain.
Perhaps there's an electrical supply store that would have the plug for the controller that can be spliced on to the end of the 09 harness to make it work?
Does the '09 even have a spot in the dash for the controller, or is that absent as well?

What dealer did you go to?

The 09 has a pocket where the controler goes on the 2010, just take that out and install the brake control. I am going to call other dealers to see what they have, the one I talked to didn't know what I was talking about and had me on the phone for more then a half an hour.

You can wire it in on the 09, no issue at all, but it doesn't work properly.

I went To Varsity Chrysler in the North End.
A parts # would be helpful though for the controller...they told me they just had the one in that I picked up, but I suspect they can get them in.
The wiring harness for the 2009 should be P/N 56045795AB..
...but double check.

That is the harness for an aftermarket controller. Goes in the blue plug.

I just received my second factory controller today. First one took four days, but it was defective. Second one took two weeks. It works just fine.

No wonder they are behind, if with just a few in here talking about this and one has a defective one already......I have the plug the fits into the blue plug, same one as from my 03 Durango and there is a pocket there I just need to find a controller that will fit in there. I am hoping to rent a trailer this summer for a week to see if travel trailer camping is for us and they will require and electric brake controller, I don't even know what type to buy I was reading and can't even remember the different type..proportional or something like that, something about leveling????

Well, got the call today. Mine just came in! I am amazed. That was pretty damn quick for a back ordered part.... faster then the leveling kit that they had in stock. LOL

Now, I just got to go get it and try to get it in after work.

Take a look at the "Reese Brakeman Compact" it will fit in the pocket quite well and all the controls you need are still acceseble once installed. It only took me about 45 min to get the pocket trimmed out just right to hold the unit snuggly and look good to me. I will try to get a pic up by this weekend (busy with family stuff till then).
