Default March Truck Month (Rebates and Incentives Confirmed)

Finally, I dropped the order for my 1500 Sport Quad 4x4 last night. The MSRP was just over $40 and I got it for right at $31. So I am just above 9k under MSRP on a factory order. Which is think is pretty good. You might get a better deal on a truck on the lot. Depends on the dealer's situation. But I was very picky on what I am getting.

Here are the March Rebates and Incentives from Chrysler on Ram 1500s.

Free Hemi Upgrade: $1310 or $500 off the 4.7 and V6
National Rebate: $2500
Mid-Atlantic (USA) Rebate: $1000 (I would assume most other if not all regions have the same deals).

There you have it. Factor that in with some dealers who are willing to give a little, you have yourself a nice deal. My dealer says that these rebates are price protected from now until delivery.

Take Note that I talked to some dealers who sounded sketchy on this issue. "I can only price protect the National Rebate." And another dealer who showed me dealer cash last month and magically vanished this month. Whatever. I found a good dealer who just wanted an extra factory order who had 1 Ram on his lot. So he was more then willing to do this deal. Factory orders cost them *******ly no overhead. They would rather deal a car off their lot so they can stop paying flooring costs and interest. I got a contract signed for price protection.

I am so excited. I can't wait for the truck to hit the ground. Might take a while, but it will be worth it. Here are my specs.

2010 1500 Sport Quad 4x4 hemi, deep water blue, 3.92, 32-gallon, IV hitch, media 430, sport premium group (alpine surround, dual zone ac, park assist), remote start and security group. And they will be installing the mopar BedRug.

The only thing I would have changed is the Quad to the Crew you get a lot of room and so much more storage etc. We left our truck unlocked one night and someone rifled it and we thought they stoled our like 300 cd case but is was in the floor what is supposed to be for ice and beer LOL. Anyway we found them there.

I debated the quad vs crew for a while. The crew off the bat is about 2k more for the same truck.

I sat in and test drove both. I moved the quad cab driver's seat up to where I would sit from, then sat in the back. I had plenty of room because I sit kind of close to the wheel and my wife sits up close to on the passenger side. I'm only 5'9" and have kind of short legs (I'm Italian, all torso! lol). My family and anyone else who would sit in the back is not really tall. So we should be just fine.

I would say though if you are tall or just rather drive further away from the wheel, then get the crew. If you sit close to the wheel, get the quad. The crew does have a few extra features like you were saying with the in floor storage and optional ram box which is not offered on the quad.

I debated the crew and quad for a while but if any adults are ever to sit on the back (I'm 6'4") then the quad wouldnt have worked out. Plus the kids get to stash their video games in those little bins on trips instead of leaving them in plain sight.

I would have preferred the quad for a the little longer bed and cost, plus I think it looks a little more balanced..

I would call them and get the factory trailer brake controller added if you can.

Being short and saving a little on the Quad is one of the very FEW advantages of being a shorter person. Tall wins most of the time. Would have helped my baseketball career greatly.

I was thinking about the trailer break controller and decided to hold off. I don't have anything to tow yet that would need a break controller (small ATV, lawn tractor, etc, light weight stuff). And those things I can even put inside the bed if needed. Maybe (huge maybe) 4-5 years from now I would like to get a boat. At that time I can have one put in the truck, right? Maybe for a little more money then factory installed.

Lower center of gravity helps at times

The factory one fits so nice and out of the way, plus its integrated into the EVIC. Its not a lot of money and if you ever do tow something with electric brakes you will wish you ordered it.

Most boat trailers have surge brakes so the controller isnt a big deal, same with small utility trailers. If you dont get the bucket seats then installing an aftermarket controller is no big deal, but if you are getting buckets/console I would order it.

I second that thought. For about $200, I'd definitely get the controller if you had any thoughts of towing. Looks like you already ordered the hitch.

nice.. Great choice ! As far as the quad versus crew cab, I had a choice of either on dealer lot, the crew was even more loaded but after having a Lariat with a crew and short bed with a previous truck, never again would I get the short bed. That extra bit really makes a difference for me hauling the ATV with gas cans, beer coolers, camping gear and firewood. good luck with it

For 2000 dollars, your looking at maybe 20-30 dollars a payment if that over the life of the loan, and as far as bed size 11" isn't much of a difference (unless your hittin it), had two QCs now a CC, have ATV, boat, etc, no difference really, haul the same amount in CC that I did in both my QCs, but with my two kids and the bigger back seat, sorry priceless, but to each his own.
