Default How to upgrade to factory navi and rear camera ?

I have a 2009 Ram Sport. Pretty much fully loaded except the navi package with backup camera ...

I would like to know how much it would cost to upgrade to the factory navi package .. and if it's at all possible ... is my trucks factory wire harness ready to accept the navi reciever ? what else do i need to do ?

thanks

You'd need the GPS radio, the GPS antenna which mounts under the dash, and the backup camera. You have to run the wiring for the camera, the radio and antenna just plug in. Depending on the radio, you may have to take it to the dealer to turn on the camera. Or buy an Allgig or Lockpick.

The camera lists for $299, the antenna about $40, and the radio, depends on where you buy it. New I think they are in the $2,000 range. Used, you better be careful as this is the radio everyone upgrades to so if they are selling, I'd sure ask why.

you should buy new. the radios store the trucks vin# in them and can cause the trucks cam system (computer network) to act up a requiering the cams to be eather replaced or reflashed at your dime.

The dealer can update the radio with your VIN so that is a non issue.

I purchased mine from oemautoparts.com for 1450.00 delivered with the lock pick and the back up camera. Had it in for close to a year without any problems and the computer did not need to be re-flashed. You need to have the u-connect otherwise you need to order a microphone and the hardest part was to run the back up camera cable.
