I didn't get the extended warranty through the dealership when I got the Ram, but now I'm thinkin I might have made a mistake. I got it on the last couple vehicles I bought, but I ended up trading them in before it even took effect. I plan on keeping this truck for a long time though. So what do you guys think? Is the extended warranty worth it?

 

i got one, because it was a deal $1450 for 84months/100,000 bumper to bumper. ive never had on on any of my rides. there is always, what if. im still 50/50. if they give u a great price,sure. i hear it from others both ways.

 

If you're going to keep it, then it's definitely worth while. Might be worth calling the dealer to see if they'll work with you since the truck is so new...

 

I think you can update your warranty before the first year is up but you can't quote this.

 

i think it is worth it i bought mine online for 1600 for lifetime w/100 deductible and dealer wanted 3300 and wouldnt come any lower so i bought online also you have up to 4yr or 48000 miles to decide.they just add a small upcharge every year or 12000 miles from what i was told hope this helps i think they said the upcharge is around 100-200

 

lifetime is worth it, anything less no... dealerships around me are terrible and will try and make you pay any way they can. I'd rather do the work myself.

 

Don't think the 2010' have the lifetime option cause of the no lifetime powertrain from the factory. but look at this link I JUST got the lifetime for my 09 (that I bought last May, truck has 11000 miles on it) And they do offer others not just the life time too, so price it there. bet you save money.

Well I went and done it got my Lifetime Extended Warranty today, 1550.00 with a 100.00 deductable.

Hope I did waste my money on this purchase though! (although I do plan on never getting rid of this truck seriously , serious as a heart attack)

don't think 2010's can do lifetime i think that is just for the one's with lifetime powertrain unfortunately though but their prices are still good

and once you go through the quote process wait for the email there will be a code for a discount $25 dollars off not much but hey it helps

 

Mine only came with a 3yr 60,000km warranty. Got the 5yr/160,000km extended gold plan warranty. Its always nice to not have to worry if something goes wrong and I know I will be covered past the time the truck is paid off!

Was yours the Gold Plan Warranty? I think there was a 5yr/100,000km one too. I can't remember. All I remember is that there were a few to choose from.
