I say it is a matter of if you like your warranty or not, especially if you have an 09. People say they cannot tell that you had one but I find it hard to beleive that a computer build by the manufacturer (which's knows there are products out there like this) doesn't have some way of recording what has been done to it. Computer's are just way to complex to be able to get past. Even if they just simply reset the computer it would show what day and time that was done. I think this would be all that Chrysler would need to deny an engine claim. Personally I am leaving the whole superchips thing alone on this truck, if 390 hp isn't enough then I do not think an extra 18 is going to be enough either. Put the money into something usefull like a tonneau cover or side steps. Just my opinion but I say leave the superchips on the shelf. I know this is not going to be popular but it is my opinion.

Exactly. Tuners and especially CAIs are a waste of money for the hemi IMO. The gains are so minimal thats its not worth voiding the warranty and no tuner is untraceable.

i had a PM conversation with the guy from superchips. In a thread he stated the data from the tuner was not "readily" available to a tech. he admits there is data there but he feels that no one is going to take the time to find it. I applaud his honesty and not knowing how the system works I cant say whether or not he is correct but with a lifetime warranty for as little as we pay you have to believe they are going to be strict. I was even worried about a drop in filter......though going that far is a little much I do admit.

I do think the tuner is a great idea and would be cool but I cant imagine voiding the warranty as that is a big part of why I bought an 09.

Thanks for the eye opener guys. I was wondering about the warranty thing. I have heard that when you set your tune back to factory that it doesn't leave any traces and I have also heard the opposite. Seeing as though I have 4yrs left on my warranty I don't think the chip is the way to go. Not yet anyway... I think I will reconsider after my warranty is over.
I think I will invest in some side steps instead. Thanks again.

Exactly what I was thinking. Once the warranty is over I may look at one then.

If you have an 09 then you should have the lifetime powertrain warranty so 4 years makes no difference. And you can get the mopar cai and it won't void your warranty.

So the Mopar CAI won't void the warranty? What about the others...Air Raid, K&N etc?

Mopar is Dodge's cai and it will not cause a single problem with the warranty....all the others will void your warranty if they determine that your motor failed because of the intake.

You would think these CAI's would be made somewhat the same.
