Looks decent, my only concern would be using those tow points. Big beefy metal up until the plates that actually get bolted to the truck frame. How thick are those plates?

they are 1/8". i looked at alot of other aftermarket bumpers and this is a common size. its the same exact thickness as the plate on the truck from the factory. the guy building it wanted to use 3/4'' but that is just too big.

It's pretty hard with all the curves on these newer trucks to make a bumper that works. That looks pretty damn good. Well done and props to your friend!

Except that the factory bumper does not contain or support the tow hooks (just shares 2 of the frame bolts). Might be worth having him build in a tie in to the large bolt on the bottom of the frame that the factory tow hooks use.

Unless you are trying to pull something a lot bigger than you I think you should be safe that think looks heavy duty, I too would be concerned how it is mounted but from how that turned out I bet the guy who built it knows what he is doing.
Now what about painting it the same colour as your truck? What is the rectangular hole in the center for?

It says winch bumper, so I'm going to guess it's for a winch. Mounting pattern looks a little odd, so I'm not sure what kind.

Nice job for sure.I'm a welder by trade and that bumper looks good.Old jeep has a good point about the mounting points but you will probably be ok if you dont stress it beyond limits.I like the design. Your buddy did a nice job!

i would like to paint it the same color as the truck but dont want to spend the money on it then go off road and scratch it. so its spray paint for now so i can touch it up if need be. and the hole in the middle is for a winch. im getting the ramsey 8500lb. i used a roller fairlead from my buddy that has a ramsey so i know it would fit when i get mine. but thanks for the comments and hopefully soon i will have some pics of it being used
