Hey all!

I've been lurking on these forums for quite a while. Well, since I was shopping for and bought my new 1500 Ram last summer. I love that truck!

Anyway, I enjoy some major tuneage and have replaced the deck unit with Kenwood KTV719DVD and man it sounds great. I also ordered an RESEX 12D2 that will hopefully sound awesome and got a box from supercrew.com that replaces the center seat. They say it fits the 2002-2010 models and I emailed them telling them what i was planning to do and they said sure it should work fine.

So I got the box in and the sub didn't fit. Diameter of the cut out on the box was 11" and the sub needs 11.2". No worries, I thought, I'll just make some notches in the box and the sub will slide right in. Thankfully it worked just like I planned.

OK now time to get that center seat out. Oh wait, crap, it's not anything like the previous model year! On the previous model I guess there were two rails that held the seat to the floor and it was pretty easy to take it out? Not so with mine. It's connected to the passenger seat and practically impossible to get out from what i can see.

So, has anyone taken their center seat out? If so, could you tell me how to do it? Or give me some advice?

FSM says that it comes out with the passenger seat. Probabally some bracketry underneath that could be removed once the seat is out of the truck.

 

Hm...OK that's what i was afraid of. No easy removal like the previous ones
