Don't know if this has been answered anywhere, but has anyone tried making some HIDs from a 300C or GC work in a Ram?

Sweet glare for oncoming traffic.

OEM HID's = low beam, magnified/focused projector lenses.

HID bulbs in stock reflector lenses are a tuner joke as are low tech/discount ballasts requiring piggyback capacitors!

RAM doesn't rate a factory HID option like Viper, Charger, Challenger, Grand Cherokee, 300, Town & Country.

I have factory HIDs with projector lenses in my Vette and they are not as good as the HIDs I put in my truck. Maybe because the Vette sits so low, but the definite cut-off on the headlight beam is too extreme. If you do any driving on tight, curvy mountain roads with elevation changes at night you'll know what I am talking about.

As far as the HIDs in non-projector housings, if you stay to a 35 watt set-up and your lights are aligned properly, you won't be blinding anyone. But if you are running a 55 watt set-up, there is too much light for that reflector to handle, you will blind other drivers with too much glare. It's these idiots who are the ones that give HIDs a bad name and getting local and state municipalities to step up the "all non factory HID" enforcement.

The reason the HID kit's have a piggy-back ballasts and capacitors is because most of the time there is not room for the ballast to fit in the area of the headlight capsule. And have you ever priced a factory replacement HID light - you can't get it without the ballast, and has a replacement cost of over $300 for an Escalade - that's just one. So I think the 35 watt kit I got for my truck for about $100 is a worthwhile investment. But you are free to exercise you own freedom by not installing HIDs in your truck. But if you did, you wouldn't be bad-mouthing them.

Crod I went with the 5000k and I don't think they look all the blue. When driving, everything looks bright white and everything is more clear. Don't ponder over which ones could be better. I did that for about a month untill chrisp929 told me to quit researching and questioning them. Just buy a set, you won't regret it, and so far I haven't. As for my kit, I went with the slim ballast with the error code eliminators and 5000k lights. Next I am looking at doing my fog lights with the same kit.

I couldn't agree more. If your HIDs are adjusted properly you wont blind anyone. I find that people that talk down the HID retro kit, are one that don't have them or had a bad experience with an early kit. They've come a long way in a short time.
I know I wouldn't give mine up without a fight!

well said! i agree 100% i have 6000k lows and fogs and will not go back to stock. i got my kit from a vendor on DT and have not had one single problem with them. i did not have to buy any capacitor/canceler or any other "extras". plugged them in and ran with them
