Default Rattle from back of cab.

Ok so for the last 8K miles there's been a rattle coming from the cab that seems speed related (any speeds about 35-40mph and it is there). Seems completely unrelated to engine RPM.

We plan on taking it to the dealer at one point to get the 5 or 6 or so recalls that they have checked out, but since it's not RPM related I don't think it's that muffler bolt or whatever.

I just read in another thread that there are pressure releases behind the rear seats. I'm inclined to say it's one of those.

I have a Quad Cab. Is there any way to fold the back of the seat forward so I can look at the back of the cab from the inside?

Not as simple as a seat belt? I know mine in my RC tend not to retract well.

Do you have the mopar dealer installed running boards or tubes cuz mine rattled on drivers side as soon as we left went right back they said they could not fix it. I fixed it by loosening it and putting some rubber in between the bracket and frame and then retightened. Now the passenger side is doing it but he rear bolt is stripped but it only rattles rarely, waiting on summer.

Seat belt sometimes rattles in my CC if not retracted properly too...

I get a rattle from that pressure vent when I have the slider open.

Truck is bone stock save for a Tonneau cover and a drop in K&N filter. So can't be running boards.

It happens with or without a passenger in the rear seats, so it's not seat belt buckles hitting the door.

i would like to start off by saying .. i also have/had rattles in my truck and .. I FOUND ONE TODAY! ..

the rubber gasket came off the truck box about half way .. its's where the small space is between the box and the cab on the right side ... every time i hit a bump i would hear a tap/knock .. turns out it was the heavy rubber gasket ... i just stick my thin hand in there and pushed the gasket back on the flange coming off the box .. i'm a big guy .. 6 foot 6 inches but am only a medium build so my hand fit but barely .. if you try and your hand won't fit, get your wife/girlfriend/child or neighbor to do it for you if you find you have the same problem ..

also my driver side running board on my 09 sport was rattling like crazy .. i jammed some rubber in between the bracket and truck cab .. that pretty much stopped it .. altho i have to do a better job later this spring .. i'll take the whole boards off and install rubber bushings or some sorts like others have ... that should stop the rattle for sure ..

also i installed my airlift airbags this past fall . and i didnt tighten the sway bar link well enough .. this winter it came loose and every time i took a turn left or right .. once i swong the wheel gack hard or drove over something diagonally, the rear end would make a popping sound ... so when i was installing my RECON back up reverse lights last week, i was feeling around for something loose that might cause the rattle and i found the sway bar link bolt and tightened it back up real snug ...

NOW ... i STILL have ONE knock i can NOT find .. it stems from the rear driver side passenger crew cab door/side somewhere .. every time i hit a bump i hear it knock .. i think the knock is coming from the internals of the mechanics of the rear seat belts behind the plastic panel that covers the belt mechanism ... i know its not the buckle hitting the plastic panel because i buckled all the belts and took it for a ride and it was still there ... but it sounds very similar ..

in addition .. i was getting rattling from my rambox doors .. the latch on them closes twice . just like a car door .. half lock and full lock .. i was not slamming/pushing the doors closed all the way and the doors were not only rattling but getting water inside them ... that was an easy fix and a big DOH !! ..

good luck ..

I don't have ram box, and the rattling is constant when the truck is moving about 35-40mph. It's a "click click click click" at probably 2-3 clicks per second.

I'm assuming something is flapping due to wind...
