Default Cold Air Intake Pics

I would like to see some engine pics of people with different CAI's for the Hemi motor. I am a visual person. I am on the fence between a couple so I would really like to see in the engine compartment the difference between the Airaid K&N Volant Mopar etc installed... Please only post your intake if you have one.

Looks good, I always thought that the Mopar intake was a full intake that had all metal tubing. Is that the factory rubber hose pictured? Can I ask what you paid for it?

Should have a K&N for you this weekend, along with a real world step by step how to.

I paid $400 even for the intake, and $75 to install, it took almost an hour, as I hear they are a pain to put in, sort of.

I have the AEM intake which is the same as the mopar. I love it. It did take about 30 to 45 minutes just cuz I took my time to make sure everything was done right. The only pain is that you have to drop the wheel well liner to get to two bolts to remove the old airbox and secure the new shield...otherwise it is a perfect fit and fairly simple if you are handy.

Huh? You don't have to worry about warranty with a CAI unless you don't maintain it properly, just like any filter system, you gotta keep the element clean. Dealer can't arbitrarily void a warranty under the Magnesson Moss Act. (Spelling?)

The only thing I have to worry about is being CARB approved for California...that $500 ticket from CHP ain't fun...

you are correct about the magnuson moss act...with aftermarket parts, to turn down warranty work they have to be able to provide conclusive evidence that your aftermarket part caused the part failure. for instance, if you put a 200 shot to the engine and blew a motor the first week that you had it...they can show that the bottle blew the engine but with CAIs, I dont know that ive ever heard of a warranty job being turned down for a CAI.

did i read that post above correctly...someone paid 75 dollars to have someone install an intake? also, that mopar intake looks a little dainty for a 400 dollar piece, no? the intake for my hemi is far more involved (and it even came with a fancy TB spacer!)....its basically a knock off of the volant intake, i believe.

Your all correct that Dodge cannot refuse warranty on your vehicle because of a CAI, but they can refuse to look into an issue such as a 'engine trouble light' until the stock unit is back on.

It happened to me.
