Need help deciding
Same for me. Narrowed it down to the F150 and Ram. I wanted a crew cab but I needed the bed length to be at least 6 feet long because I will be towing a light weight 5th wheel. Most of the F150's on the dealers lots around here had one's with 5.5 beds. Yes I could have ordered one but it didn't seem that they were as common. The other issue with the F150 crew was that it was much longer and would not have fit in my garage. I opted for the Ram quad cab. Even though the interior room was less then the Ford it still had the 6' 4" bed and it will fit in my garage. Another big selling point for me was the power of the 5.7 Hemi and the coil spring rear suspension. The Ram rides better than the Ford. Finally, the Ram looks so much cooler than the ubiquitous square looking Fords.
Yeah, same deal with me. I had it down to a white lariat Ford and a White Ram 5.7. I was worried about Dodge's reputation but after talking to people who had owned them decided to go Ram. After driving the Ram I couldn't be happy with that doggy 5.4L either. Funny thing is, I was parked at the gym and an 09 ford parked next to me and was looking at mine and said he wished he had gotten one, lol.
Same reasons here ! I couldn't pass up the price $9K off sticker + a sunroof, technology group, remote start, and 390 hp. Most of all one bad *** looking truck from the front and the rear. The Silverado crew couldn't touch the options and the size of the crew cab. Then the gas milage was 18.8 driving home fom the dealer. Pretty good compared to the 6 cycl. Trailblazer that averaged 15.2.
The only thing that bothered me was the truck has 16 spark plugs. And they recommend you change them at 30,000 miles. Also, It uses 89 octane fuel.
Other than those two things I am very happy with mine, and it for sure IS the best looking truck on the road.

I wouldn't buy into the reliability score stuff too much. Dodge seemed confident enough to offer a lifetime warranty on the 09's and was a big selling point for me. Just like a lot of others here it was between the F150 and the Ram. I really liked the Ford but the only one that I liked was the FX4. It seemed to have the nicest interior and the best ride. Also at the time the Dodge was way better priced, about $6K less spec for spec than the Ford.
That being said, I'm glad I went with the dodge. I've driven a few F150s since and can't wait to get back in my ram. The ride is noticeably nicer in the ram and the power is no comparison. I also preferred the interior of the Dodge, it seems more intuitive, all the buttons and hvac controls are logically placed and easy to operate whereas the Ford seemed a little fussy. I also thought the dials and info center were more clear in the Dodge than the Ford.
Driving wise, the Ford felt a little more disconnected, lighter steering and maybe a touch quieter which some people may like but the Ram is more fun to drive and seems to have more character.
Looks wise, I like both. The new raptor is pretty cool but the Ram is still the looker of the two and I see a million of the new fords driving around.
Bottom line is they're both excellent trucks and easily the leaders in their segment, but until Ford can shoehorn in a more powerful engine, match the ride comfort in the Dodge and engineer in some character I'm sticking with the Ram and I think you should too.
