I just found out my truck has the Uconnect Bluetooth all ready built in! the Sales man told my it wasent there. He even asked if I wanted to buy it. LOL It''s been 4 month since I bought the Truck, I wanted to see what would happen if I hit the button and it all worked! Connected it to my phone and even uploaded my numbers and made a call! lol, what a happy surprize! Now my truck can talk to me! I hope it don't start complaning like the wife...

It's all in dash, I just hit a button over the CD player Looks like a guy talking and there is one with a phone and a "U".

I have a feeling the salesmen F'ed up, because the dealer sold my first truck (that I had a $1000 deposet on!) so they had to get a new one. The nearest one was 700km away. It was all the same but it had a Bed Liner and apparently Bluetooth! Witch he must not have known about lol!

 

I had standard stereo with Uconnect button but it didn't work. They told me it would cost about $400 to install. I got this instead. I'm much happier.

 

Ya I'm going to get one of them some day but need some other stuff for the truck first. Nice to see how that camera installs! I thought if I got one I would be able to get a camera for it because it wouldn't be a factory install.

 

you can mimick the factory install with an aftermarket camera from ebay or wherever.Just need a hole saw. I plan on it after I decide which lockpick or whatever to buy since in one month they went from version 2 to 2.5 and now to 3.0 and they are usb updateable and easier to install then the other model pardon me for forgetting the name I am gonna wait and see how version 3 works since I can't afford to be a guinea pig.
Someone probably wanted the unconnect on that truck you got and that dealer added it and the sale maybe fell thru and you got the deal!!! Ihave the same thing as you, you know it works for other that phone calls the VR button stands for Voice Recognition, u can use it for your radio and play music off the hard drive if you have some iinstalled etc. lots of uses. Check your manual how to useit is in there.

 

Hal T- Can you tell me how you "stuck" the camera to your bumper? And don't you worry about stuff coming off the road hitting it?

 

I was thinking that I would have located that camera somewhere else that is an expensive little one to not just a cheap ebay model.
