Default Ipod not charging with UCI

Everything works when I plug my Ipod into the UCI except it doesn't charge. I can control songs through my stereo and steering wheel. However when I look at the Ipod it is not charging and the Ipod displays the message "charging is not supported with this accessory." Any ideas?

if you have a later model ipod or iphone they dont charge with the stock interface, you have to buy a cable for 30.00.

Wow that must be my problem, thanks kpevin. I have the latest 64 gb ipod touch so that's my problem. I wonder if the dealership would swap this out for me since it doesn't work like it should.

My dealer had no clue about the radio/iPhone at all and it took me a while to figure out exactly what I needed since they were no help.

If you just bought it go in armed with a part number you may be able to get it for free, never hurts to ask.

It is just the basic stereo but it has uconnect. No touchscreen, navigation, or anything fancy like that.

I would try this. It works for the RER Nav stereo for the problem you have. They changed the way the iPod's charge, so this should fix your problem.
