3m has a nice thick one for rockers and stuff, that would work.

Can you post a link to this clear body tape you're talking about? I'm searching but not getting any good hits.

Here is a link to some material.

Trimbrite BodyGuard Protection Film

3M makes some too. I got mine from a local Autobody supply store. They sell the 6" wide stuff by the foot.

They also offer a clear spray that has a rough texture to it. I plan to spray the very bottom of my truck down by the lip with that in either the clear or black. It is kinda rubbery so repels the stones.

If you live in Canada , Canadian Tire has the 3m stuff. Any autobody supply store, Cross Canada Auto body. Walmart and Meijer in the states probably have it, for sure Murrays.

I used thicker, black pinstriping to keep it off the paint. Went and marked with dry erase marker to out line on the paint. Then took the flapoff and use 1/4" pinstiping. Seems to have worked so far..

Depending on the brand, stone guard or chip guard tape. The body shop supply will know what you are after. Or you can use the link above. The 3M stuff is a lot more money because the rolls seem to be larger. Unless you can buy it by the foot as I did.
