Default Mopar Hard Folding Versus BakFlip

If anyone has any photos of their MOPAR Hard folding, please post them here if possible. I remember a orange sunbust truck having one, but that's about it

Not sure who else might find this thread of interest, but I'm comparing the BakFlip to the MOPAR cover

I know bak industries changed their product line, and now their foam/plastic cover is now called the F1 and about 2-$300 more than the G2..And the G2 is all alumunim...

In addition, i have heard some people are happy, some are not with bakflip...Not discrediting anyone with a bakflip, just trying to make the best selection...

So i know with the MOPAR you have that backing of the product line/after market from the same company thing....But know a cover is a cover....

I'd stay away from the aluminum bakflip if you live anywhere it might hail or if you even think of setting anything on top of it. The top operates and seals well, but the aluminum is very thin and dents easily.

The mopar sits above the bed rails, also installing it requires carefully cutting out the front bedstake holes, constructed of the same structural foam material, bakflip F1 has a polymer surface covering the foam core with a aluminum skin on the underside sits almost flush with the rails. I have one (F1)and i am happy with it, can get the F1 for 949, i would not buy the g2 IMHO.

I have the MOPAR cover. It's a year old now with almost 40,000 miles wear. It's not 100% water tight but it's damn close. Never had anything get wet even in the hardest rains. It's very easy to use and to remove, only 4 bolts to remove it from the truck if you need the whole bed. I like it alot and don't regret getting it over any of the others. It's still in new condition even being in the Florida sun year round.

I have the MOPAR as well and I can attest to the quality. I have had a dirt bike engine sitting on top of it and there was no question as to it bowing. I don't know how much weight you can put on it, but it feels extraordinarily solid. I have had things in the bed and never had an issue with water leaks either. With the whole Mopar product line warranty, you just can't go wrong. That is why I am choosing the Mopar CAI as soon as I can afford it. I like my warrantys!

From the pictures I saw the BAK Flip has exposed bed stake holes so I can put up a rack and still have the cover on. Can you do that with the Mopar cover?????

I purchased an Extang hard tri fold, takes less than 1 minute to install and remove. No holes to drill and I purchased it for 630.00 shipped. It has the aluminum top and I have no issues with it and I am in construction.

Fold a cover is the manufacturer of the mopar product (same thing). and yes with the bak you can use the stakes, no you cant use the stakes with the mopar, but get the F1 if you buy, seen them go for 850-950.
