so they say a SC will blow up engine and tranny, cant handle the power, hear lot of people say tunners just change shift patterens,no real HP gain, others say cold intake does next to nothing, and exhaust maybe a coulpe of HP,so what the answer,to get more HP?

I am so tired of people complaining about the power or the aftermarket world for these trucks. If you don't like it then go buy a 3rd generation Ram and quit your complaining. Whenever a new model comes out it always takes time for the aftermarket world to catch up. It is not like Chrysler releases the new models to the aftermarket world before us. They get the new model when we get the new model so research has to be done. Finally if 390 hp is not enough for you get a diesel and tune the crap out of it. Just quit complaining about these trucks. I had enough already.
YA GET A DIESEL AND QUIT WHINING ABOUT THESE AWESOME TRUCKS. You can get a Bullydog or Edelbrock aren't they working on major diesel stuff, I have seen on TV a pickup that was diesel push a button and you get like 300 instant HP...so you answer is there.
You can build yourself a nice 440 that will be more than 390 HP or get yourself a real HEMI 426
Maybe a cam for your HEMI then you will surely need heads. 390 HP and 6000 lbs being pulled it's no wonder people are upset, They are used to that kind of HP in those Tuner cars.

That's a bunch of bulls$%t! These trucks have steel cranks and can withstand 7lbs of boost easily and that's what most street chargers run! The only reason why you couldn't go any higher on the boost is because of the 10.25 to one pistons and not having forged steel rods. And 6 to 7lbs of boost is good for an easy 100+ hp. Also... these trannys can take 500 hp+ as they are according to Gary Stanton Racing (BPE). I've spoken with this guy on the phone several times about my build and he has a 426/600hp on a stock tranny and with no issues. And as far as that goes they sell shift kits and valve bodies for it along with stall converters if need be. If you had 8.5 or 9 to one pistons and a callies crank with good rods you could go all the way to 26 lbs of boost for up to 1300hp with a good Kenne Bell 2.8 if they made one for a 09 truck but they don't yet. But yes...you can put a SC on your stock truck running 7lbs of boost right now if you choose that route. Super Chargers do not increase your rpms...just your cfm flow, hp and torque, that's one reason the stock rods would work. Sorry for everyones out burst here, but these are not race trucks and some people seem to think that they are supposed to be! Good luck!
