Default Y-Pipe

Has anyone swapped there Y-pipe out, for one that is not as restrictive as the stock one? I know there has been some talk, but that was months ago.

The stock Y pipe is minimally restrictive to say the least, I don't think it's a worthwhile mod unless you got money to blow on 1hp gains.

The stock y-pipe is the biggest POS I've ever seen (take 2 pipes and crush them to fit into a slightly bigger one) and plenty of guys have swapped it on their 3rd gen's. If you're already doing your exhaust then it's a good time to get one and have it put on.

That Y is quite restrictive if you compare it to how is SHOULD be. Although it doesn't yield massive gains to just change it, it definitely helps if you are making other upgrades.

So, the Y in question is the one up front where the pipes come down off the exhaust manifolds and go into a single pipe?

Did you get it custom built or is someone from the aftermarket making them?

TorRedOrv0436,

Was yours custom, or did you buy aftermarket? Also, how much did it run you? Any issues with the dealer?

Thanks.
