Default Trucks built in Mexico?

I was wondering if only certain Truck models were built in Mexico. I order a Crew Cab recently and i'm curious to know where it will be built.

All mega cabs and heavy duty trucks are built in Mexico. Anything else light duty is built in Warren, MI (Detroit). Historically the quality numbers for the Rams have been better out of Mexico though...

I was under the impression all 4th gen Ram's were built in Mexico then sent back to Kansas City for Quality Control before they are shipped out to dealers.

All 2009 Rams were built in Fenton, MO (St. Louis) or Warren, MI (Detroit). Mexico builds heavy duty and mega cab Rams. They began production of 4th gen Rams in MY 2010. This is why if you wanted a heavy duty or mega cab Ram in 2009, they were still 3rd gen.

I am proud to have a St. Louis truck (I have had two of them). Until they closed they did all the 1500 RCs.

Vin will be a 1 for usa, 3 for mexico. My 95 and 02 were built in mexico and had better fit and finish than the USA trucks did. It is no suprise to me that the numbers were better for the mexican plant because just looking at the hood and door gaps revealed much better work down south of the border.

My 2500 MegaCab (just got today) was built in Mexico and shipped strait to Twin Oaks, PA by rail, where it was loaded on a truck to my dealer in NJ. So the most it 'stopped' was to change trains in St. Louis and Illinois. Didn't leave the train car until PA.

By the way, it had 3 (three) miles on it!
