If you get a RER, it will fit perfectly. But you would need the mic as mentioned and a GPS antenna that mounts under the dash. Kinda pricey just to get IPod control.

I have a Kenwood DNX 6140. I have 2 USB cables in the glove box. One is for an Ipod (video capable). The other is for a hard drive. It will also control an Ipod (touch) wirelessly through bluetooth. I'm very happy with this unit.

No bezel or anything necessary it will bolt right in and plug in to the existing wiring harness and look/work as factory. The ipod cable for the RER plugs into the back of the headunit, the REN/RES uconnect cable plugs into the uconnect module behind the glove box. I've been trying for a year to get an ipod to work with my factory uconnect and REN, i know the uconnect box is wrong but the dealership wont order the right part in.

Hal_T,

I had a Kenwood DNX-5120 in my other car I traded in for this RAM. I loved it too. Wish I would have kept it now! I think that the way I'll go, I'll just have to get the newer DNX version. Thanks again. Looks great in your truck.

ya because you still need the dealer to starscan the module and you will also be able to control a bluetooth phone. Now by the time you figure out that it cost you over 500 bucks to get an i pod working you might as well spend 800 and everything is there except the the microphone cable and mic and the ipod cable. You will have Nav, Sat, hard drive, bluetooth, you might have to get a gps antenna too but they are cheap. And a trip to the dealer to starscan it.
