I think you guys in the US have to specify the colour matched grille.It just comes on the Sport in Canada. Like we don't get the Lone Star edition, what is that?
Still, it doesn't explain why some have the painted grille and some have chrome. It's not an option you can request.
Sure it does explain. If it was an earlier build of a certain color, then it was chrome due to the parts issue. They are painted separately from the rest of the truck, just like the flares. There were issues with them also for the monotone Laramies. That was ironed out the beginning of March.
And you do not specify a painted grille on a Sport. It just comes that way, or at least is supposed to. Even in the USA for 2010.
Went by that same dealer today and checked out the build date (in the right corner just above the bar code). It was made on 0315. Funny thing is, they had a blue Sport just a few trucks over with the painted grille and billet inserts. The blue one had a build date of 0215.
