factory 6x9 replacements?
Anyone know (by model #) what will fit in the doors as a direct replacement without having to modify anything? I'd like to stick with 6x9's but the only place I know of to cross ref is Crutchfield, and they don't list any aftermarket 6x9 replacements.
I followed their recommendation and replaced the front door and dash speakers with the Polk DB series, but they don't sound much better than stock and the highs are so harsh that they give me a headache.
I know the premium system has Alpine's installed and I've heard Kicker makes a replacement, but I don't know the model numbers so I don't know what to search for.
I know someone out there has experimented....let me know what you found.

The Kicker upgrade part # is 77KICK42 for the front door 6x9's and 3, 3.5 2-ways for the dash. I just got this set in my truck and it sounds really good. Much better then the Alpine setup. I also ordered 77KICK06- 2 6x9's for rear door. The Mopar website does not list any speakers for the rear doors but I have heard these will fit, I guess I'll find out when they come in. You will not have to modify anything with the Kickers, just unplug the stock ones and plug them in.
There are Pioneer 3 ways that will fit with little modification. I have them in now but they're coming out and being replaced with Focal's. Just hooking up new speakers didn't do a lot more me and I have the Alpine system. I'm in the process of doing a whole new system with the exception of the head unit.
To get a better quality speaker may just look at 5 1/4 or 6 1/2's with a mounting plate. Most of those will probably fit no problem.
I don't remember what the speakers I took out of the doors were stamped but the dash one I just took out says made in Taiwan. No reference to being an Alpine...

As the post above me says, there is problems with what fits and what doesn't.
To elaborate, the mounting depth is shallow and that's what causes the issues. Most 6 1/2" speakers will fit with a normally included adapter plate. You might have to pack the area with dynomat or the like to make it work just right.
Go back a page or two and there is a lengthy audio thread that has a ton of info in it for you.

In my search today I found an AWSOME place for info....dodge.com of all places. If you go into the body builder's guide it has all the specs including the wiring diagram covering several years. Had regular radio, premium radio, etc.

I have an 08 QC and just put infinity Kappa perfect 6.5 components in the front doors usind abs board to make a bracket and mounted the crossovers to the actual door above the handle. The rear in these trucks will also allow for a 6.5 inch speaker with very little or no modification. If you need more space you can bend a little bit of the metal with pliers to make them fit
