Same thing happened on my 09. Ordered, waited through the shutdown, and the dealer said it would be there on a specific date. When it wasn't there they were surprised. Thats when they realized that they did not specify that it was a customer order and it was treated as an inventory order, a totally different priority to Chrysler and the port where it is stored before delivery. They will wait to ship it to the dealer until they have a full truck carrier and an efficent route to maximize the profit of the run.

It was only two weeks later. Chrylser sales are slow which is adding to your delay. Be patient, the truck is worth the wait.

If I am not mistaken shipping is not a Chrysler owned operation. Maybe it should be. Makes them look bad when

1. It takes to long to get from point A to point B
2. And looks worse when they can not really say anything more than your truck is on a truck and we really have no idea when it will get here.

In todays age they should be able to reach right into the truck, tell you where it is, how fast and what direction it is moving.

They can. Or at least, the shipping company I talked to had GPS in their trucks, and over the course of a few days were able to tell me it was 30 min out from their storage lot, making the trip to the dealership, etc.

Default 2 hours away?

2 hours away? Tell them they have 4 hours to have it at the dealership or you gonna get your moneyback and go somewhere else.

Wouldn't work like that, they won't send out one transport for a single vehicle, probably would have a better chance convincing someone from the dealership to drive out to the transport yard with you and sign for it there instead of at the dealership...and I doubt that would happen.

well little update today -- So they (the dealer) have called Chrysler to find out what happened during shipping. Turns out the truck was in Toronto on march 9th, after that they aren't sure lol -- but Chrysler guaranteed the dealer the truck would be there this week -- do i believe them.... NO!

Ok as a former emp, and also one waiting for a truck to show up let me shed some light on this.

1. Chrysler does not, nor have they in recent history own their vehicle transport company.

2. Just because its 2 hrs away dosen't mean much. Its in a shipping yard, not another dealership.

Most likely here is where the problem is. If its at the yard it could be landlocked by hundreds of vehicles. They will not move hundreds of vehicles just to get yours out. My truck is sitting at a yard that is 10 min from my house in sterling heights MI. Its closer to me than the dealer I'm getting it from. i didn't even order mine, just picked one they had in "transit status". My wife also sells them as well and has told me this happens a lot. If the vehicle is not landlocked usually they will let a dealer rep come grab a car. My wife has done this on occasion.

Just hold on it will be there.

Giving a dealer money to fast track the process just shows him you have a lot of cash to throw around so your price changes. Dress in jogging pants and and old shirt and a baseball cap, don't dress up. Look poor and you get better deals if they let you take one out for a test drive will be another question LOL. No really you need to give them no more than 50 dollar deposit to order if they say they need more BS. They love when people cancel orders cuz then they have another vehicle for the lot since the companies are trying to build only sold or mainly sold vehicles, so dealers have a hard time having lot stock. Since they don't want to have to put out money to keep stock you help by cancelling your order. I don't know what the process is now but that was what I was told when Daimler took over
