I never had one do anything more then a few rubbed spots.I have had a couple in trucks 10 plus years.The rub spots were a lot less damage then dents and scratches over a decade or more.Depending on how and where kept a once in a really blue moon removal and soap,clean the bed helps.There are ways to secure cargo that are a lot more user friendly then dealing with items that feel like there glued down(won't slide) Also for what it cost to get a spray in(or bed-rug) I got nerf bars,window vents and a tonneau cover.
