Default Integrated Brake Controller

Hey Everyone,

New to the forum- just taken delivery of a 2010 Cummins 3500 Dually.

I have just installed my gooseneck and decided to give the trailer a pull up the hill to see how much better the new truck is over my old Hemi. When I went to turn around, I couldn't reverse as the trailer brakes locked on. I could roll forward but reversing was pushing against the brakes.
I also noticed that when looking at the brake screen in the EVIC, there is a longish display between pressing the pedal and seeing the bar to show braking power moving. It looks like when I press the brake pedal, there is a 5 second delay.

Am I missing something easy? Somebody mentioned something about roll back prevention- ever heard of this?

2010 Cummins with a 6 speed manual.

Thanks

I too have noticed the delay. It is not instantanious. Yet, I had no issues whatsoever backing my trailer up. There is the Hill Assist that holds the brakes on for a couple seconds after you release them to prevent roll back on hills, but it should not affect backing up.

Thanks for the reply- that could be the reason- i live halfway up a hill with a manual transmission, I'll have to work on my stop and not roll technique

You can turn off the Hill Start Assist in the EVIC if you want to try and see if that is what is happening. It's located in the Setup menu. You have to be in Park to enter Setup or it will show Locked.

On a manual, you would probably need to be in neutral. Whatever it takes to get into the Setup menu. If it is not neutral, check your owners manual.

That might just be the refresh time for all the computers on the CanBus network.......
