I bought a 2006 mega cab 4x4, I tried out the different trucks with exception to the Chev. they are like a tin can. I would not consider the chev at all. I seen a video actually on the Ford site which took all the trucks and chopped them up showing what they were made of. Ford was the strongest chassie and quietest but I was sold on the room the dodge had and have not found anything which touched it as of this day.

Yes there are a few issues with the front end with premature wear which is chryslers own fault for not having any grease nipples on the truck but for power and what I can haul I have to say it is good. Like I said room in the back is excellent. When I first sat in the back of the mega cab I was sold immediately. I have put fridges stoves in the back of the cab when coming from my cabin which is on a rough road . I have hauled tandem axle trailors with tractors aboard in on these woods roads through brooks and up the other side of the roads with no hesitation.

It is a good truck ,chrysler just need to take care of the grease nipple issue by putting them in their trucks.

All good stuff. Thanks everyone for your input. Anyone have one with a lift and bigger tires? My 01 is lifted so i would need to lift the new one as well.

I was in a similar situation, where I was down to the F150 and Ram 1500; both seem to be great, but the Ford is so lazy and plush with the power delivery, that the Ram felt like a dragster compared to it. My biggest hesitation with the Ram was the transmission, as I've got 100K on my '05 with the same unit and I'm not a big fan of the 5 spd when everyone else has a 6 speed. However, the shifting logic is vastly improved and having the range select negates all the things I hate about my '05.

Plus the interior of the Ram is astoundingly good and comfortable, particularly with the center console.

well everyone pretty much nailed the problem with Toyota's truck other than the fact that it's a Japanese company and the gas pedal problems.... the truck is UNCOMFORTABLE and noisy!!!

I work at a dodge and chevy dealership, I would buy the Ram over any truck on the market right now
