Had to cut mine out with a sharp razor knife. In order to replace with Airlift 1000, had to pull the springs out to install the new bags so I could have avoided the cutting of the firestones.

Pulling the springs out was easy after removing the lower shock mount bolts.

I have my air lift 1000 here just waiting for me to install it. The spacers look small enough to slide in the spring without taking the spring out. Wonder if they redesigned them?

Man it is wicked easy to install. I simply jacked up the side I wanted to work on and put a Jack under the frame, I removed the tire then I jacked up the axle and removed the lower shock bolt and the sway bar control bolt and relaxed the jack so the axle came down. I was then able to simply pull the spring out and install the bag. Installation required a long breaker bar for leverage to get the spring over the little knuckle on the axle. Total installation was about an hour. It honestly took me longer to setup an cleanup then it did to do the job. Very easy to install and not worth the headache of trying to force the bag through the spring. Goos luck

I could not get the Airlift bags folded small enough to fit between the coils. The firestones went in easy.

I have access to a lift, but my car is on it right now. I'm planning on waiting until my car can be moved to install this. I also have an on-board compressor that I'm going to install. I had the springs out of the truck not to long ago when I put my front 2" leveling kit on and 1" rear.

those bags sound much better, iv done a little reading about them but not much.. im going to check out the forum right now, guess thats the way ill have to go..... i didnt have much air in them when this happen.. 20 pounds rings a bell??? when not in use i ussually let hte air down to 15-20 so it wouldnt effect the normal operation ride. you would think firestone would atleest tell u ** not for sure in temperatures below such n such*** but i guess why would u advertise that they suck? lol.. i shoulda asked i suppose.... lesson learned haha

I'm looking at the Firestone 4185 or Air Lift 1000. Why did you change? I noticed the Air Lift has a max psi of 50 compared to 35 for the Firestones. Anybody know the benefit of this or any other reasons to pick one over the other. The Air Lifts are about $10 more where I am, so it's not a cost factor. I'm also considering a front/rear level kit, so pulling the rear spring would have to be done anyway. I might as well do everything @ once and save some time/labour.
