Default Change 5 to 6 Seats (Sport trim)

Hej everyone,
I just wanna ask if you think its possible to do a seat modification. The Laramie trim is avaiable with sport seats and 40/20/40 in front. But i'll prefer the Sport trim (black dashboard, black door panels, cloth seats) and would love the additional space and steeringwheel-mounted gearshifts.

You could do it, but it would be a total pain in the butt, and no telling how much it would cost, which would be up there I'm sure. Have you thought of buying a Laramie, SLT, Lone Star, or Big Horn and then adding the bits you're looking for?

The trucks that have the 6 seat configuration have a column shifter. You are talking about some huge changes to make it work.

I didn't even think of that Jeep. Yea, it would cost you an arm and a leg to do and completely not worth it. With that in mind, it would really cost a lot less to take another trim level and turn it into a Sport with bumper and everything else.

You can get the Laramie in the dark slate grey interior with the front split bench seat. The Laramie with the dark slate is very similar to the sport, only nicer inside with touches of wood trim. You wouldn't get the cloth seats though. The Laramie comes standard with leather. You could do SLT big horn edition which is close to a Sport, but different type of cloth seats.

Its really not feasable to change a factory sport to have a split bench seat. I guess it could be done, but at that point after all the money you spend doing it, you mine as well get a suped up 2500. Plus the sport has bucket type seats and a flat bench seat in the middle would look weird and wouldn't be flat accross the bench.

FWIW, I have a sport and LOVE the bucket seats and floor shifter. You have PLENTY of space upfront unless you absolutley need that 3rd middle seat upfront. The center console has so many cubby holes and storage space you don't need to worry about storage. Legs, hip and shoulder room is ample as well. Of course, it depends on if you need that 3rd person sitting up front.

It's interesting that you would want to turn the seating around. When we first looked at these trucks, we were hell-bent on getting that bench seat. Then I thought: Our only daughter just turned 20. When are we going to be driving her and 4 friends around again?
So we decided on bucket seats.
If you absolutley need that bench seat, I think you would do better to trade the truck in on one configured the way you like.
It will be nothing but headaches to start to change the interior configuration for many of the reasons mentioned in other posts here.

Thanks for your answers!

Another option would be a Big Horn with changing the bright interior parts (door panels, dashboard, airbag cover on steering wheel). Probably the better idea...

I'll compare both at the same time and decide.
