Default Dash Squeak Near Windshield

I was driving into work this morning and noticed this loud and annoying squeak whenever I hit a bump. I've reasoned that it's most likely the foam strip that runs along the dash between the windshield and dashboard. This afternoon the noise was not as obvious but I could hear it. Seems tempature sensitive. Anyone else have this issue? I really don't want my dashboard pulled apart or windshield removed so suggestions for a home remedy are welcome.

could be the covers for the dash speakers one could be lose. if you don't mind cleaning the mess up, put baby powder in that area but it will be a pain to clean up, the talc powder is a dry lubricant

or maybe a good coating of armor all on the dash (yes I know about the poss. dash cracking that it may cause) may help the squeak, and one time coating should not cause it to crack (if it does do it, i don't know if it really does make them crack)

friend has a superbee charger, same problem, it was indeed the dash would expand in heat and touch the windshield, dealer pulled dash and sanded down the edge, fouling area was not visible so fixed under warranty, good as new!

Don't know if it is the same thing, but here is what mine was. It sounded like it was coming from the passenger side around the speaker location on the dash. It was temperature sensative and would usually do it when it warmed up. I searched and searched thinking it was something in the dash and actually thought it was the speaker.

I had the passenger door open trying to determine what it could be. I put my hand on the front door brace with my fingers touching the black plastic trim piece that runs along the windshield. I leaned into the truck and heard the creaking where my hand was. I pushed on the black plastic and it would squeak where it touched the rubber trim piece that runs from one side of the truck to the other at the bottom of the windshield.

Where the plastic trim meets the rubber trim, I sprayed Armorall under the end of the plastic trim and the squeaking stopped. If it rains alot, it will wash the Armorall out over time and I have to respray it occasionally.

It could have been squeaking as the hard plastic trim piece rubbed the rubber trim. There is also a rubber strip attached to the hard plastic trim that touches the windshield. It could have been the rubber strip rubbing the windshield. There is a picture of the location in the post below.

Thanks. I bet this is my issue because I have not heard it in several day's and it's been raining so the water is likely acting as a lubricant.

man I have this problem to. I dont really know if the sound is coming from the windshield by the compass or it is coming from the dash bezel area. I took the dash bezel completly off and drove around and it still made the sound. I have tried many different forums and tried just about everything to fix it with no luck. I took it to the dealership and stayed 4 hours only to hear it on the drive home.

I have a similar problem. Mine is coming from all the described areas. This seems to be temperature sensitive (i live in syracuse ny). Sometimes it seems so bad, that it sounds like a bunch of nuts and bolts rolling around near my radio. I'll be taking it into the dealer for them to check it out. The truck only has 5k miles on it.

FYI I fixed my problem I pulled the dash bezel (real easy to pull apart btw) and then pulled the radio out and behind the radio was a cluster of wires that would bounce when I hit bumps and caused the squeek. I just taped it to a rail and never have heard it again. Its been fixed for over 6 months now. Pm me if you need more info Its a twenty minute job
