Default Perfrmance Chip

I'm very new to the whole chip thing and i'm quite hesitant on buying a chip. i know one person that has a bully dog for his Cummins and he's had nothing but troubles. No one else i know is running a chip either so i want to hear what everyone has to say about chips really in general.

List the chip that you have and price and briefly explain what you all get out of your chip. I've done a few hours of research on them but still only know a couple brands Bully Dog, Superchip, Edge and Diablo Sport.

I used Bully Dog in my 2002 and 2005 diesels. It worked great. I have not used Bully Dog on a gas application. I am wishing I had bought one now, instead I bought a SuperChip for my 09 1500 and I am starting to wish I had not. Bought it and paid for express delivery, wouldn't load and now they seem to have a problem getting me a program that will. Not real impressed now. Maybe when it is finally loaded I will be.

A 'chip' is a external box.Don't think there is one for your 1500 gas.The1500 is a computer DOWNLOAD.

If your gonna get a download I suggest Superchips. I have the Cortex, and yes there are a lot of guys that have had problems with them and others that swear by them. Bottom line they have the best customer service, easiest update download program and constant testing to produce a good product. I was one of the lucky ones and got a cherry Cortex and did the advance settings as Ron @ SC suggested. It awakened a beast and only hick-uped once.(minor rpm shift adjustment cure). My truck is vicious as a pitbull with the precision of a swiss watch. Just my opinion as a happy SC owner.

Well I love my Bully Dog. Havent had a problem one. Also was able to turn off my seatbelt chime, and reprogram my lights. Now when I turn on my high beams, my low beams and foglights stay on to. Its all about personal taste.
