Default Nav Display Gone Wonky

This morning I was driving to work and noticed that my nav way out of kilter. The freeway was nowhere in the area I was driving. In about a half an hour the display flashed like it does on start-up and it corrected itself.
It's never done that before, is this a normal deal? This is the second head unit I've got, the first one was replaced since the bluetooth crapped out. My original unit always worked fine.

This one also stops sometimes when I'm listening to songs off the harddrive. I'll have to push the seek button to get things going again. It doesn't do it all the time, but it does do it - my other one always worked fine.

Anyone else have these problems with their RER head unit?

A similar thing happened to me 3 nights ago when coming home from the airport, I clicked “guide me home” to get an idea of when I’d be getting home, then left the airport with it still guiding me (truck 3 weeks old, just playing). We hit the highway (me and her), then there were a couple of cross-over’s and all of a sudden I found myself driving through the middle of a rural area, across streets and through people’s back yards. The navigation keep trying to route me though it but kept recalculating because I was nowhere near where it thought I was. About 5-10 minutes of this when I changed highways it returned to normal (without rebooting I think).

Real strange…

better hope the dealership doesnt need to replace your radio. They have had my truck since April 3rd. the NAV headunit are on backorder until at least the 23rd of April.

i have had aftermarket garmins, tomtom and some cheap *** one i got from dell do the same thing at differnet times. i doubt it was your radio but rather a hiccup in the software or the satilites.

Ive had this a couple of times. Last time it did it I noticed
that no satelites were being recieved ( look in nav setting I think)
it happened while on a road trip both times and shortly after
stopping for a break.

How can you tell how many satellites are working for you?

You can get the satellite info from GPS information screen.
When in NAV press MENU. Then NAV SETTINGS then GPS INFORMATION. This display gives you latitude, longitude, elevation and sattelite info
