I'll email the dealer to see what he can do but the car is on order. What type of mods can be done that can be shipped to Germany?

Why not consider buying it here in europe?
It maybe a bit more expensive but you will not need to switch out and invest in new NAV/ Stereo. Also you can get the metric system version. Saves a lot of agony.
I got mine from www.UScarsupport.com I have a Ram 1500 Crewcab Laramie. EU navigation, Metric (KM), EU radio, Dutch registration etc.
Cost me 35.000euro. Germany should be much cheaper because you/germans don't have to pay BPM (luxury tax)

I had to buy it through my Dodge dealer cause uscarsupport only sells to companies. This infact is good because I get warrantee through the dealer. This dealer also exports a lot in Europe. He can make you an offer if you like.
let me know if you need a name or number.

Good luck
John

I should think it works out about the same as I am paying £18,000 which works out at about 20,000 Euros.

I am paying £2000 for a conversion to European and the **** English road regulations, plus the British Army do their own vehicle safety check (TUV/MOT don't know the US equivalent) there is some sort of engine management re-jigging to be done plus we in the UK need require indicators above the front arches, to name but a few.

Ah, the BFG test. How well do you know the REME blokes? Do they still take yellow handbags? BFG test not really worth the paper it's written on in terms of assuring the safety of your vehicle. But necessary for the Benz tokens!

As for the US, here in GA, we don't have any such test. Just put the computer on and take any fault codes affecting emissions, and voila.

So just for my interest, would you mind telling me how much you think it will cost you totally to get it registered and on the road?
Comparing my car for use in Germany or holland makes a huge difference. The Dutch governement is really encouraging us to move abroad for good.
