Default Depreciation - Aye Carumba!

I was just on Dodge's website and ran my truck on the KBB price finder. Holy crap! In just 21,000 miles my truck has depreciated $15,000!

I've lost most of down payment just in depreciation, this is the first and last Chrysler product for me.

And you think any other vehicle is going to hold its value in todays world? My parents bought a cadillac for 48,000 a couple of years ago 3 1/2 years later the dealer was more than anxious to get them into a new one and buy the old for 4700, they walked got a price of 9900 somewhere else, nothing new, especially when new models come out like changing underwear.

Just checked mine for fun and it isn't anything close to that. What numbers are you using? If for instance it stickered at $45,000 but you paid $33,000, you sure can't use the higher number.

If you think thats bad, what has your house lost in the last year or so? I'm with the other, me thinks you didn't do something right in KBB or you paid way to much to start.

A buddy of mine bought a classic corvette and paid more in sales tax on it than the thing retailed for when it was new. Cars that appreciate in value are pretty rare though. Welcome to reality.

drive the truck and enjoy it... You got a great deal and it's worth is the use you get out of it.

Keep the truck for 6-7 years and then it doesn't matter.
