2009 SLT Hemi will not start
Think so huh? First thing to check is the battery, then the fuses. I've had batteries just completely die for no good reason.
The key not coming out is a large clue. My guess is the ignition switch is F'd up. It is one thing that always seemed "cheap" to me. If it turns out to be the issue will confirm my feelings towards it. Of course that should not affect the lights unless it did drain the battery, in any event an electicaly problem not not keep the fob from coming out.

The truck is at the dealer today. They called this afternoon and asked if they could keep it over night to see if they could duplicate the problem. They jump started it after they got it this morning and said they saw no problem with any sort of drain on the battery. We'll see if it will start tomorrow.
Wondering if you left the key the on position and the automatic light on feature activated while garage door closed and killed the battery over night, just a thought, had it happen once to me, always remove key now.
my batt cables were so loose from the dealer, it almost made me laugh hoping this wasn't a sign of poor quality to come down the road.
I too sometimes have my shifter in limbo between R and P. When i try to pull my key and and it won't budge, i simply tap the shifter foward and it pops into park and key comes out, odd, but it's happened several times.

I took the key out. I never leave the key in it over night. I do use the automatic light feature though, which works great.
My 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee had a similar problem. Every once in a while the battery would just be stone dead in the morning after a night in the garage. Definitely was not related to leaving any lights on or anything. Turned out it was a battery that was on its way out. This was at about 16 months on the battery/vehicle.
After doing a bunch of research I found that it was not a rare problem with the batteries in the Grand Cherokee of that vintage. Daimler Chrysler used a Mercedes type battery in these vehicles and for whatever reason they have sometimes failed like this. The odd part is that the failure was random. Like the OP, there was no sign of weakness after the battery was charged back up. My theory is that something inside would randomly short out and drain the battery, then open back up again for a while and work perfectly. I switched to a Duralast and have had no more issues. Could be that Chrysler's battery supplier just sucks.

I've put a couple batteries in my car over the past years. The car ran great the night before and in the morning...poof, dead. Was always the battery..In my car there are about 15 different computers/modules the do all their checking right away. Nature of the beast in some cases.
