all that is needed is the free capacitors/plug and play they send with your order when you put it in the comments box.

u only need them in the low beams. not the fogs.

you can see the capacitor in the 4th picture down. looking at the passenger side headlight area. it has black shrink wrap on it...

up to date i have had no problems at all. no flickering, nothing.....

The fogs don't require the capacitors.

for now all i have is where and how i mounted the fog light ballasts, and what i feel to be the best spot. i bought my own 3m auto tape, completely covered the back of the ballast. cleaned and prepped the surface and stuck them. then i used 2ft. heavy duty tie straps as pictured from the elec. dept at home depot. best of both worlds. never coming off. (unless you want them too) and not a perm. add. to your truck. i hope this helps everyone that is thinking of doing them and gives a definitive answer on where and how you should mount them.. i will post my headlight write up soon.

1st pic. the passenger side . im laying on my back, feet sticking out under the front bumper, head next to the pass tire. for perspective. im "peeling" back that extra plastic flap that the other side doesnt have.

2nd pic. same body position but on driver side. as you can see no plasic flap. only other thing i did was zip tie a couple wires together to keep em up behind the fender well... in fact in this pic you can see the headlight ballast mounted above it. i need to tie wrap it still. but thats exactly where the other one is located on the other side as well..

ok, finally got around to adding a couple more pics. this first pic is of the driver side headlight ballast install..

second pic is of passenger side ballast install..

this pic shows the waterproof cap, that i hole sawed with a 1" opening to fit the rubber seal/grommet.

this pic shows the wiring
I have thought of the hidextra route, to upgrading my lights, but it seems it is a flip of the coin with them. I may goahead and get a good Philips HID kit instlled. I know they are more expensive, like 300.00 but they are the real deal not some cheap crap from Hong Kong or wherever.

According to Phillips web site they do not make a kit for our trucks. Got any more info?
