Default hidextra ballast install pics!!

ok, guys, i just installed my hidextra 6000k bulbs, in my low beams, and fogs on my 09 sport quad cab.

for now all i have is where and how i mounted the fog light ballasts, and what i feel to be the best spot. i bought my own 3m auto tape, completely covered the back of the ballast. cleaned and prepped the surface and stuck them. then i used 2ft. heavy duty tie straps as pictured from the elec. dept at home depot. best of both worlds. never coming off. (unless you want them too) and not a perm. add. to your truck. i hope this helps everyone that is thinking of doing them and gives a definitive answer on where and how you should mount them.. i will post my headlight write up soon.

1st pic. the passenger side . im laying on my back, feet sticking out under the front bumper, head next to the pass tire. for perspective. im "peeling" back that extra plastic flap that the other side doesnt have.

2nd pic. same body position but on driver side. as you can see no plasic flap. only other thing i did was zip tie a couple wires together to keep em up behind the fender well... in fact in this pic you can see the headlight ballast mounted above it. i need to tie wrap it still. but thats exactly where the other one is located on the other side as well..

You'll be kickin' yourself in the nutz when you have to take everything out in a month or less when the light or ballast fails.....

Actually evo I ran my HIDextra ballasts through a New England winter, got the idea from a friend thats had them in since HIDextra introduced them. We pull trailers on the highways covered in salt as well as blasting through 3 foot snow drifts. They haven't failed yet and my nutz are intact. Funny enough, a guy I know did a simple Garret GT 3582R turbo upgrade with a Tial wastegate, dump tube, upper I-cooler pipe right down to the oil feed and water feed with drain lines on his '08 mitsie evo and put a small hole through one if those little pistons not to mention barb-wired the cylinder walls. "Next time try just winding up the little thing" I said. Hairdryer boosted japanese cars have their own site dont they. And for knowledge on the subject I did a GT28RS twin upgrade on an 04 Audi S4 to the tune of 623whp thats still on the road. I think a High Intensity Discharge amp (ballast) is the last thing you should be worried about. Go find an SRT-8 all motor Challenger if you want to find out what's gonna fail in your boosted evo.

1. Good for you, I have had a terrible experience w/ the HIDextra kit.

2. Do you know me? I don't think so. My screen name has nothing to do with an EVO smart guy.

does the fog need capacitors or just the low beam. I have the quad. Also is a relay needed or just capacitors is fine?
