Default For you northern guys with HIDs

Anyone have problems with an HID (or 2) not lighting off on cold mornings? Once the temperature gets below 40 here I have to restart at least one of mine. They start...then go out. Tried cancelers and caps. New relay too. Still wont light off the first time if its cold.
But springs here and they light almost every morning now. Except for the mornings under 40.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with their kit.
I'm getting ready to try another kit.
PS...I'm not using the kit offered by Unique-Coatings. Just looks that way in my signature.

a couple of times all winter one of them wouldn't like but, if I shut off the car and started it back up, it lit fine. I tired to troubleshoot but it's so infrequent and there doesn't seem to be any pattern. I hadn't thought about the cold but that might be it. I got mine from HIDextra.com. Other than those couple of times, they have worked great.

I had a ballast go and had to replace it, but I think that was unrelated to weather.

I've never had a weather related problem with mine blew a ballast but that is it and I have used mine at temperatures as low as -48C or about -54F

Especially considering how fast the HID'S heat up. Once lit, u shouldn't have any problems. I had to run ballast on each h3alight due to the "CANBUS" thing. Not on my fog lights though. They were ok, as they are not controlled by, or monitored by, the "CANBUS" thing.

I haven't had any problems with mine thus far. I do have a question for you though CPelton. I talked to you when I got my HID kit, and got the same kit you got. Did you do your fog lights? And if so, did you just get the regular kit, or did you have to get the error code elimanators also?

I know this question was not for me, but, ur fog lights are not monitored by the computer. No need for the "code eliminates", also known as "capacitors". They are just "plug n' play".
