I should be picking up my slide in 2 weeks from now, slide ins have less room but they have many advantages over pull behind campers

I have a 09 TRX 4 5.7L 3.92. I tow a 26 ft Toy Hauler, she is pretty loaded as in 3 quads and all the gear, I do not haul water or sewage tanks they are always empty. My truck pulls it fine except my only problem is mileage. I did buy air bags to help the rear end just need to install them.

Been scanning the internet looking for lite model TT BH models with sliders that are 5500 and less in weight. I'm not having any luck so far...open to any suggestions/websites.

@hounddogg:
Correct. But since all Diesel Crew Cabs are 2500s or 3500s (or F250s or F350s or Sierra HDs), their bed size is larger than the 5'7" of our Ram 1500 Crew Cabs. Does anyone pull a 5th wheel with their 1500 Crew Cab know the details ??

Didn't realize the bed size was different.I am amazed at how many little beds are out there.Waste of a good diesel.Got a buddy shopping used trucks(2500/3500) and that short bed issue has been a deal breaker for him many times.10/15 years back I was told that the short boxes sold poorly.Then the subdivision crowd wanted them and popularity reversed.Once a hitch put in them nothing left of bed for usage.

I don't think the extra space you gain with the mega cab over the regular cab is work having the short bed. I have plenty of room in my regular crew cab and the long bed allows me to haul a bigger slide in camper. But I guess more people are buying the mega cab, I just don't get it.l

I thought that a QUAD cab was a FOUR DOOR>LOL.Plenty of room.I've not had a complaint about leg room etc.In fact I wish the Dodge Quad cabs were like a Ford or Chevy.I'd love to have shaved doors(no handles)on the rear doors.I LIKED my 1993 W250 QUAD CAB.Pass seat slid forward to let folks in the back and it had jump seats.Was great for grocery's,dog,luggage and the occasional person.

Hey - am probably way too late to chime in but we picked up an Evergreen Everlite 31 DS last year and love it.

My truck pulls it no problem.

I bought a new Thor Wave 22RB 22ft TT 4 years ago. I have had zero issues with the Thor or my 09 Ram, what more could I ask for . My TT is 3450lbs dry and around 5K loaded up with a full tank of water and beer etc. I can pull it around with ease here in Colorado. Most of my towing starts at around 7000ft and ends up around 10-11,000ft, no sweat for the Hemi. There was some squat which my EQ hitch adjusted out easy enough.
