Default Aftermarket Fogs in the grille?

Has anyone installed any aftermarket fog lights behind the grille? I was looking at a pair of Hella Rallye 1000 black magic lights. They are really thin, so I thought they would be the best bet for fitting them behind the grille.

Let me know if anyone has any input or if you have any ideas.

Thanks!

i installed 2 5'' lights behind my grill... i wasnt impressed, i never turn them on, and will take them off when i get my replacement bumpers..

they do look sharp if you have a matching grill...but mine do nothing as far as extra lighting
*i only bought a 55 dollar pep boy brand, but they have the yellow/blue tint, so theylook expessive..haha*

Any pictures? I'm concerned that they won't be functional, and if that is the case, then I won't drop a couple hundred on a good pair.

man, ive been trying to get them off my blackberry with no luck.. im working in mexico right now, and the cell service here sucks.. so im having a real hard time transferring them.. i'll work on it when i get to go back home in a few days if your still interested..

I did it mainly for looks, i get stares with it, because not to many people around here have 5'' lights mounted behind a grill, it does look pretty neat... but the light ratio sucks.. i really cant tell that i have them on at night, except for a faint blue tint that appears in the factory headlight tint.

i also have wiaas *wannabee piaas*, maybe if i opted to spend the hundreds of dollars i would be more impressed. so maybe somebody else can chime in on it..

IMO, i would just get HID in lowbeam/fogs and it would be more than enough light that you would want to achieve.

thats what im about to order, and once i get my replacement toughcountry bumper, im going to rip out the behind grill lights..

Cliff Notes-
-their just for looks, not feasible for anything else *i think the grill takes away from the light- just my .02 cents

I put a nice set of 4" Hella lights behind my grill on my 04 Ram. I enjoyed them on the back roads late at night they made a huge difference. I was looking and it would be a lot more difficult to put them behind the grill on the 09 Ram. May just get me a Bull Bar or something similar and mount a set on it eventually. Need to keep in mind most of those are off road lights and you can get a ticket for using them while out on the street.

i can wait for the pics, I am in no rush, but this is something that I think looks bad *** on trucks I've seen... my reservation is b/c the webbing in the grill is so tight that I don't want to waste the time and money if you can't really see em.

Angry Fogs in grille

I threw a couple of Pilot (cheapo) rectangular lights in. Bright but unfocused beam, made worse by the slats in the grille. They were cheap though from Amazon and came with the relay. I put a nice switch in that lights up green (only a line) in the center console. Looks factory.

Now I have to change all the bulbs out to match the white light...

I think it looks pretty menacing. Do you know which lights you bought? I'm mainly looking for the specs on how deep they are so that I have a baseline on what will fit and what will not.

Thanks again for the pic!
