Chrysler tried to tell me that the Mopar tip was for the '09 as well but I don't buy it for a couple reasons. A) the install instructions say its only supposed to stick out past the end of the stock tip by 1.5" and B) Most places other than Mopar that have the tip (i.e: ebay, dodge accessory stores etc) clearly say its something like 03-08 only.

Why wouldn't Chrysler advertise that as well and make a 4th Gen specific tip?
I figure with the uncertainty of the corporation, they figure it'll work, it just won't look as good as on a 03-08 Ram. As far as making a tip for the 4th Gen,why should they? Between the cost with designing a new tip and profit expected and expected sales, its not worth it.Besides I'm sure Chrysler is tight on money even now and the money that they have can be better spent elsewhere.

I wouldn't have thought designing a new tip would be all that difficult. The exact same materials, ID/OD, clamp assembly and cut angle on the end but it needs about 2.5-3" chopped out of the middle, and it would be perfect for a single out 4th gen exhaust. As far as why should they.......to keep business with Chrysler and Mopar. As far as anyone knows this is the way the exhaust is going to be on all future Rams. At least probably 3-4 yrs of 4th Gens will most likely be this design so why not make sure you have the accessories to properly equip them? Being happy with not "looking as good" isn't really a recipe for success in business is it? Especially when a large portion of buyers base alot of their decision on how a vehicle looks (colour, trim package etc.)? I don't really want to go find a GM, Ford, Magnaflow, Vibrant etc. tip that works on my Dodge. I would rather have a Mopar part on my Dodge Vehicle. Just one persons opinion though I guess....
