Dunno, but I can tell you that all of them were directly routed to underneath the front bumper, getting the air from right in front of the car and down low... And no matter how much their research bears out any advantages to that setup, that's one place this old south Georgia swamp rat can't route his air from.. LOL...

oh, and just a note in closing, Mopar78 hit 200,000 miles recently in his '05 Hemi Ram Daytona with this setup:

All I was trying to do was show/discuss the TWO sides of a product.

Hey guys, this is slightly off subject, but I just installed my CAI today and drove it. K & N had super easy instructions to follow and it only took me about an hour to do. Keep in mind that I am a mechanical retard. Ha. I was immediately impressed with the noise that it makes. It sounds great, but driving down the highway, I noticed that the truck seemed a little more sluggish. There was a slight hesitation at the shift points. My roommate has assured me that this is common since it takes the truck's computer a bit to re-learn when it needs to shift. Is this common? and if so, how long should it take?

It shouldn't have to RELEARN how to shift. Could see it affecting air/fuel ratio kinda maybe. After all truck came with a pretty free flowing intake to start with.Eaither leave it alone and see what 50 miles does for you or reset parameters by unhooking negative battery cable, turn ignition key ON.Wait a few minutes, turn key OFF and re-hook up negative cable.Still give it UP to 50 miles of driving to relearn. It just resets the system by doing this.Usually best to do after a mod is made.Won't hurt, might help.

Well, like I said, Im a mechanical retard. What you just said was basically what he expressed to me. I had to unhook the negative battery cable for the install. By that, I mean the instructions told me to. Ill wait and see what 50 miles gets me.

Depending on how many miles you have on your truck, 50 miles may not be enough.
