The antennas last YEARS longer not being outside.
Do you know were the antenna plugs in? Is it in the back of the radio or is there a box located elsewhere?

I second what Rizam said. I just put one in my boat and was not looking forward to mounting another antenna on the boat so I just stuck it to the receiver that I mounted on top of the subwoofer enclosure that is in the port side storage locker. It picks up just fine through the fiberglass and the windshield.

I would leave it where it is, I have an aftermarket receiver with Navigation and Sat radio, two more antennas and I left them both in the dash beside the deck so I dont have wires to route etc, no problems so far reception every where except parkades. So I think with the camper on top you should still be okay.

I agree, like how much cutting out are we talking because my RAM does it a bit not often not enough really to **** me off when I really think about it. Just though when listening to a talk show like Stern and you miss the punch line or something hilarious someone said. Oh well.
The sat antenna is attached to the back of the radio which is simple to remove there are instructions check google.

I drove to the RV repair shop to have a new fridge installed in my two week old camper. the radio worked fine for about 10 to 15 minutes then it started cutting out for 30 to 60 seconds every 3 to 5 minutes on the way back it cut out again for 30 to 60 seconds every 3 to 5 minutes but the were times it only cut out for 3 to 6 seconds.

When I drove up to New Paris IN from Anderson SC to pick up the camper the radio never cut out once in the 700 to 800 mile trip and I don't recall it ever cutting out a single tile the first couple weeks I had the truck.

I would have enjoyed having the radio work without cutting out on my trip but I just don't have the time to muck around with the radio, I have to load my stuff into the camper and cut the grass before I leave plus I need to do some laundry and a few more odds and ends before I leave.

MY plan was to leave June 3rd or 5th but I made more than a 1/2 dozen trips to the repair place and wasted a lot of hours trying to get the fridge fixed so now I am trying real hard to get on the road by the 11th.

I just thought of something that wasn't an option when I first posted this.

I just got the new Sprint HTC EVO phone delivered today. I wasn't supposed to be out till late summer but it was released for sale on 6/4/10.

Since the EVO acts as a WIFI hot spot I may be able to use the phone to listen to Sirius on line with my phone. I am reading the stuff that came with the phone and will ask Sprint if the phone can do it and if it can maybe it will be easier to pay whatever Sirius charges to listen on line.

The 2010 truck comes with an inverter so I can keep the phone charged by plugging it into the truck dashboard so the phones battery life won't be an issue. I don't know if the inverter was available in earlier Ram trucks but it will come in handy keeping the phone charged while I connect to the net with my phone

You think your Sirius coverage is spotty... wait until you try to stream data over your cellular phone...

I got my truck camper on Saturday, after it was on Sirius would play for about 10 seconds and cut out for about 5 then play for 10 again. Since we driving 300 miles to get home it was a good thing we had the ipod connected to the radio. Does anyboy know where the sirius antenna plugs in?

The plug is located right in the back of the radio however it doesnt at first site look like a regular plug. You have to take the plastic case off and put it on the new antenna. It's green and says amphenol on it.

When you have a sirius subscription even the free one from dealer you get an automatic free online and you can download and use the sirius app for free for your phone. good luck streaming....you might be able to since you have a hard drive but....good luck
