Default Any experiance with Fold A Cover?

I'm kinda liking the G4 Elite tonneau cover. I called a few places and they are all telling me around $750 for my 8' bed truck.

I wanna know what experience you guys have with them. The reuqirements are simple:

It HAS to lock
It HAS to be 98% water tight
It HAS to be easy to take off if I need to move big stuff.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Hey JB,
I bought a G4 Elite a couple of months back. I decided NOT to install it myself, and in retrospect am glad I didn't. To address your questions, it does lock (both front and rear panels), it has been 99% waterproof so far, but it is not that easy to remove, especially by yourself. It is hinged at the second panel back from the cab. You would need to remove 4 bolts and then lift all 4 panels out. They are probably around 60lbs, and easy to dent.

Overall, I'm very happy with it, except for the tailgate locking latch. I didn't want the shop to put it in, but forget to tell them. So I have to unlock and open the end panel before opening the tailgate. Kinda cumbersome...

Quality and appearance wise, I'm happy so far.

Go for the bakflip F1, fold, remove 2 **** nuts, and remove, no lock just lock the tailgate, minor leakage but nothing significant.

The only leakage that I've got with my F1 is coming through the tailgate.

Thursday I drove 2000 miles through snow/ice and rain storms - 36 hours in all. Only water in the bed was a small amount from where the tailgate and the bed come together. I need to invest in a tailgate seal set.

They added an extra seal with my F1 that my HD didn't have, which eliminated the water leak that I used to have at the front of the bed.

I had that seal too, but it is for the trucks that do not have drop in bed linners, where I have leaks at are along the panels and aluminum framing underneath at the rail edge, not much just a little.

or is it 60 lbs for all of it... When you say dent easily, like how easily?

It's 60 lbs for the entire cover!

Also, take a look at the Advance Cover. It's almost the same as FoldACover but part of the installation is WAY easier. It's VERY difficult to align the rails correctly for the FoldACover and it's very easy on the Advance Cover.

Fold a Cover makes the OEM MOPAR cover that you can get at the dealership. The OEM one is NOT the G4 Elite, it's the LS series. Buy it from the dealer and it's covered under your trucks warranty. Mine has been great so far and to pull it totally off takes about 5 minutes, a rachet, one socket and the muscles to pick up about 45-55 pounds. It's EASY.

I don't recommend the FoldACover LS, get the G4. The hardware underneath the LS hangs down while the G4's hardware is fairly low profile.
