Default Exhaust stud replacement

Hi All:
I did a search on the exhaust stud replacement to see if the fix worked to silence the "ticking" sound and came up empty. I had mine done yesterday and it is a lot better, but still there. Am I the only one? Please let us know if it completly fixed yours or it is still there.

Problem with replacing a stud after it has started ticking is that the exhaust gasket has potentially burned part way out.

I have mine on order but my truck has 10000km's and doesnt tick. I am thinking leave well enough alone or....let them do it since it's a safety recall.

Mine was done about 20k miles ago and has been silent since. They also replaced the exhaust header as it had a crack in it so I am sure I got a new gasket too. It had ticked for about 5k miles before they fixed it. Dealer kept saying it was normal for the Hemi to tick and I shouldn't be worried. Get them to fix it right with a new gasket and to inspect the header really well.

The dealer will only do what Chrysler says to do. If it says replace 4 rear studs on exhaust manifolds that is all they will do unless something is obvious like that cracked header. I ordered my studs over a month ago, when I took it in for the Cluster flash for the Fuel Saver light on early build 09"s they even gave us a paper attached to the receipt for the flash mentioning they know they have to do the studs but they are on back order no arrival date mentioned.

It doesn't apply to all trucks. Mine is also a March 09 build and not on the list to be done. Just have the dealer call up your VIN and they can tell you for sure.

Bet there is no gasket.Manifold to head and thats it.I had mine done before a issue happened.Dealer had bin full of them.New bolts/studs are a higher grade stainless.Bet the manifolds are warping and breaking the studs.Been a issue on many engines for decades.
