Default How to change out headlight low beams

I've searched and can't find an detailed answer. I know there are access doors in the fender wells, but I don't see how I can access the bulb from there. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Instructions are in your owners manual. It's kind of a pain because you have to remove the grill to get access to the rear of the light assemblies.

according to the factory service manual, you dont have to take the grille off. everybody does anyway just for the extra room. to change the bulbs you have to remove the whole headlight. there are 2 10mm bolts that hold the headlight in. then you reach through the access panel in the wheel well and lift the white latch up and then grab the headlight and pull. there will be a little resistance because there is a ball and socket pin on the back. the white latch locks it in until you push it up.

Okay, I feel like a real idiot. I still can't figure out how to change these bulbs. I wish they were as easy as the fog lights were. I've checked my owners manual and all it has are the bulb #'s. Can someone please help me here. Pictures would be great too as I'm a visual learner. Thanks again!

I recently installed Sylvania bright whites, and it's a process to be sure, but not all that complicated. First, you need to remove the grill. to do that, you need to pull the plastic cover over the radiator off. (be careful not to rip the plastic retainers apart). Then remove the bolts from the top of the grill. You may want to line your bumper cover with some 3" masking tape where it meets the grill so you don't scratch the cover like I did when you pull out the grill.... Next, remove the grill by carefully pulling it out. At this point it's held in only by two retaining tabs on the bottom. Now that the grill is out, there are two bolts that hold the light assembly. Remove them and then go to the flap inside the wheel well and feel around for a sliding tab. (this holds the back side of the assembly). Slide the tab (I can't remember if its up or down) until it releases from the light. You can now pull the light assy out and change your bulbs. By the way, pictures are on pages 460-461 in the 2009 manual.

Thanks, I was thinking they could be changed out without removing the grill. All I got for my 2010 was a user guide and a DVD. Don't have an actual owners manual. I will look at removing the front grill. Thanks for you time posting this!

It's pretty stupid how difficult they made it. My driver side headlight bulb went out today - at only 15 months. What's up with that?

Headlight bulbs aren't covered under warranty, are they? They are under my wife's Hummer warranty....
