Passing on a good deal?
That amount is pretty much the discount I've been seeing in the last month. Basically invoice price minus current incentives and maybe another $500. What they were offering you was a decent deal. Your counter was way low.
Factory orders for 2010 models were done 4/26.

Not sure what your tax rate is, but that seems pretty low. Remember you pay taxes on your down payment and all of the rebates as well. A month ago i bought a qc sport 4x4. I get emp discount. I will break down what I paid for mine.
Sticker 38230
Ep price 33351 (4879 disc)
Free hemi 1114 disc
Dealer cash 1000 disc
That brings us to $31237
Mich sales tax is 6% = 1874.22+31237= 33111.22
Now the rebates
I had 3500 in chry rebate, 750 gmac bonus cash, 1500 lease loyal. So thats 5750 total.
So now 33111.22-5750= $27361.22 tax included
Without tax it was $25487 so I got 12743 off sticker. But that was with emp, and lease loyal. Unless you get emp price you are not going to get that much off. Sounds like they are giving you a decent deal.

Going rates, at least in Dallas, TX are 11,000 - 12,000 off. I'd push for that. You can pull dealer ads off the internet as evidence.
I did something similar back when I got mine to get 15,000 off.

I checked on several of those on-line offers for $11-12K off MSRP. Each one was premised on the buyer being eligible for EVERY possible incentive available, including military discount, loyalty bonus, trading in a Chrysler vehicle, etc. Unless you qualified for every specific one the deal was more like $8K off. For the potential difference in price I would have flown down to TX to buy one and driven it home, but it just wasn't reality.
I'm not saying some of you didn't get those deals back with your 2009 models when Chrysler was hurting badly last year. I know it happened. I just don't think many people are getting them today.

Truck break down by dealer...
$40,410 msrp
discounted $10,027 off the MSRP and sold to me for $30,383.
$30,383
-$3500 down payment
+$800 dealer fee
+$1641 Tax/Title
= $29,324 OUT THE DOOR plus my TAG cost to transfer from old truck ($80-$300)
SOOOO..I guess my math was a little off... I still think im gonna hold off and try to hammer em down a little.
Call me crazy! hahaha

First of all the price went down a grand on the truck roughly, I think on the most expensive model but when down some on the other models. You are not an employee so you should not be getting the employee discount. That pisses me off when people get the employee discount unless they are a relative or good friend of the employee. Sorry we work/worked hard in that place and it is nice to feel like you are getting that little bonus at least they are still giving employee discounts, I had heard that left the building with Elvis. I think some of the deal being offered are by desperate dealers who do not want any stock left like they usually do at the end of summer. Finally someone using the brain. Why build vehicles knowing you are gonna have to give them away in a few months. I in one way wish I would have waited for a new 2500 cuz I wanted to snow plow. I know I can with this but I am not messing with the front end I hate reading stories about vibrations wobbling whatever with the leveling kits let alone thelifts. You would not get someone to move 5 grand on a house like that these days how you figure you should get that much off that great deal. Go to Gm they are giving 8000 bucks off their 50000 price. Try Ford they got some 0 percent money so do Toyota, they must be a Tundra waiting to break down on you in the colour you want. End of Rant.
Around here (Metro detroit) they got more expensive this month. I bought mine in April. I used to work for the company(took buyout last year) Still get the discount thru my dad (Retired). Both of us were at warren truck.
