Default Question about 3.55 Gears

I have a 2010 Dodge ram sport 5.7L. Came with 3.55 gears, and of course, no LSD. Every time i get on the gas to turn a corner during traffic, or pull out of a subdivision into traffic, or get on the express way, my right rear tire spins.

Or if im just messing around and showing off and do a burn out, only my right rear tire spins

My question is, is there a way to help reduce/prevent it, or to get both tires going?

I thought about changing the gears to 3.92 with LSD but from what i read that could be costly, and maybe thats not what i need

Right now i dont tow anything with the truck, but i do haul stuff in the bed

only one tire spins cause you don't have a LSD. you probably don't need the 392's and yes it is pricey.

don't want one tire spinning don't give it as much gas. want both spinning spend the money to put LSD in it.

Then they will both spin and you can buy 2 tires every 6 months.

You need to take the truck in for service because the ESP is not performing correctly. I have the same 3.55 in mine and the only way I can do a peg-leg burnout is turning the key while flooring it which disables the electronics on the truck. ESP on pulls power and prevents the tires from spinning, ESP off will allow the tires to spin but will apply the brake to the inside tire so both will start to spin. Your truck may not have a mechanical LSD but it does have an electronic version.

I know it has the electronic version, I just miss having the LSD. I had it in my dakota and never had the problems i have now. Also burning out looked so much better

A guy pissed me off yesterday, cutting a corner right into my lane as I was coming to a stop. Caused me to hit the brakes hard enogh abs kicked in. I gave him a bad look and he made a comment to me as he passed, which is what really pissed me off.

Anyhow, the point of this story, these trucks REALLY burn the tires in reverse. Scared the chit out of him pulling my reverse 180 and going after him.

I love doing those...I miss it, hard to do with hand controls.Funny you say that my wife didn't realize she was right on the bump of the driveway and the truck didn't wanna go up, so she hit the gas harder and well we all know what happens in reverse, she came in with a big grin on her face. "Did ya hear be burn the tires?" I laughed, I said go try to get it to do that forward, yes the turning of the key is the only way I can break the rear wheels even with the esp off, so I agree you should take your truck in unless you don't have ESP, is that possible?

I am in the same spot. Want to upgrade to the 3.92 LSD rearend but the dealer and the Dodge district service manager tell me I have to replace the entire housing. I was hoping just the ring and pinion and the carrier. I currenlty have the 3.55 rear. Anyone done this upgrade? Why would the housing need replaced? Thanks in advance.

Gee that's funny, 4 Wheel Parts just put a set of Precision Gear 4.10s and an Auburn Gear LSD in the '09 Ram 1500 QCSB 4x4 belonging to my fishing buddy three months ago. I know this for a fact, because I went with him to help get them to knock the price down from their original quote.
You've got the SAME Chrysler Corporate (AAM) 12 bolt, 31 spline rear end I do and I'm running 4.56s in my stock carrier!!!
