At 6'4" i see those things lurking in other peoples homes and have thought "what if i get sprayed" would it really burn.

My wife put one of those things in our bathroom and it always startles me when it goes off. At least ours is not at eye level.

I'll be honest. If that happened to me, that air freshner would not be functional anymore. I would have destoryed that thing. Funny story though. My wife laughed at it as well.
