Question V8 Single vs Dual Exhaust Question

Hey,

Not sure how many people have had experience with both. But, I have a question about the 09+ exhaust systems. Would I be safe to assume everything forward of the bed is the same whether the model comes with single or dual exhaust?

The reason I ask is that I intend to put Magnaflow's side exiting exhaust (part #16868) on my R/T when I get it. (I just love side exit exahust and I don't love the factory duals sticking into the bumper.)

Of course on Magnaflow's site it says it only fits the single exhaust trucks. I am assuming this is because they figure most owners aren't going to change out the bumper to have that exhaust. But, I can't discount that there might be a difference that would cause me fitment issues.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thank you.

Trust me, it will be noisier there.

My 1997 F150 had the exhaust going out ahead of the rear wheel.

INSTANT recall: The exhaust corroded the rear wheel and froze of the brake shoes from condensation. Ford changed all of those trucks to a conventional exhaust setup at no charge.

A great idea for California, but certainly not for Canada.

Christian - Yeah I figured that would be the case with the CC. There just isn't much room between the fender well and the cab. Oddly, Magnaflow does list part # 16868 as being available for the 09+ CC. That's actually one of the reasons I was scratching my head about how the exhaust is set up on these trucks.

706jim - Yeah, I figure it'll be pretty loud. I've thought long and hard about it and I'm ok with it. LOL. Seriously though, I've got a Gibson side exit on my Silverado and I was surprised that there are actually a lot of Silverados out there with traditional exhausts that are louder. I didn't know they recalled the Fords. I remember a lot of people saying it discolored their wheels and what not though.
