Column Shifter Boot
The boot that surrounds the base of the shifter (on models that don't have the floor shifter) is made out of a rubbery type material. Can that be replaced with a leather boot? I find it a little strange because every vehicle I have ever owned that had a leather wrapped steering wheel also had a leather boot on the shifter.
I am not asking just to complain....lately I have noticed wear marks where the boot rubs against itself or the shifter and if I put my hand underneather of it when I shift I get a good amount of black rubber "dust" that falls down into my hand. So, I am assuming from this that the wear will eventually become a problem as the wear marks are already clearly visible with the naked eye.
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone have a solution?
Thanks
